Convex contact structures and fibered links in 3-manifolds

Ichiro Torisu

We study relations between positive convex contact structures on closed oriented 3-manifolds and fibered links in the manifolds. For connecting these notions, we introduce the notion of convex Heegaard splittings for closed orientable 3-manifolds, which is almost equivalent to that of fibered links. In particular, we greatly pay our attention to the 3-sphere case and see a correspondence between the tightness of convex contact structures and the positiveness of fibered links.
