Weakly Nilpotent and weakly semisimple polynomials on the plane

In this paper we introduce weakly nilpotent and weakly semisimple polynomials in K[x,y]. We study the connection between these polynomials and the Jacobian conjecture as well as the canonical form of the Newton polygon for these polynomials.
